Family Roots
Surrounded by animals and fresh food all his life on the family’s working farm, there was only ever one path Kenneth Moffitt could and wanted to take.
And so, at the tender age of 19, he started to rear a small number of free range geese on a specialised diet of natural feed for the Christmas and Easter markets. Locals quickly snapped up his produce with word of mouth reaching hotels and restaurants in the region.
It’s all about the duck
Spotting a niche for high quality poultry, he began to rear ducks. Twenty three years later, a lot has changed and a lot hasn’t. He still operates from his farm in Blacklion, Co Cavan and supplies the many local hotels and restaurants in the region that first supported him.
Word of mouth has led to national demand and we now work with some of Ireland’s leading chefs, hotels and restaurants. Check out ‘Our Customers’ page for more details on our main stockists.
Award Winning
We were humbled to receive a Euro-Toques Food Awards in 2018. The Irish members of Euro-Toques, the European community of chefs and cooks, are asked each year to nominate their favourite suppliers, and from this a list is drawn up for the Euro-Toques Ireland Food Council, which independently assesses them and selects the winners. As well as chefs, food producers who are members of the organisation were eligible to make nominations.
We were selected in the Farm category for our Aylesbury-Pekin cross-bred bird.
