Surrounded by animals and fresh food all his life on the family’s working farm, there was only ever one path Kenneth Moffitt could and wanted to take.
And so, at the tender age of 19, he started to rear a small number of free range geese on a specialised diet of natural feed for the Christmas and Easter markets. Locals quickly snapped up his produce with word of mouth reaching hotels and restaurants in the region.
It’s all about the duck
Spotting a niche for high quality poultry, he began to rear ducks. Twenty three years later, a lot has changed and a lot hasn’t. He still operates from his farm in Blacklion, Co Cavan and supplies the many local hotels and restaurants in the region that first supported him.
